Ways to use Endless Drift
Endless Drift is an app you leave on. As a backdrop while you work, a five-minute break, a pre-sleep ritual, or ambience for a room — here is how to get the most out of each.
While you focus — a working backdrop
Keep it on a second monitor or in a corner of the screen while you work or study. Shortly after you start drifting the interface fades away, leaving only the scenery. There are no notifications and nothing flashes for attention — a good place for your eyes to rest.
Turn the sound on and an ambience that shifts slowly with altitude plays in place of white noise. It has no musical progression to break your focus, and setting the pace to Slow calms the motion even further.
On a short break — five minutes of nothing
Simply changing what your screen shows can be a rest. Go full screen, lean back, and watch the little light flow. The whole world brightens and dims on a slow nine-second breath — match your own breathing to it and it becomes a short breathing exercise.
If you feel like a more active rest, steer for a while. Each zone keeps its own sights — breaking through the surface, auroras in the stratosphere, glowing gardens in the deep. And if you come across a rare echo bloom, drift close: it answers with light and sound.
Before sleep — with a darker scene
Choose the Deep night sky, the Slow pace, and a starting place in the deep sea or space, and most of the screen goes very dark. It will not dazzle in a dark room — only the small lights of stars and glowing creatures remain.
With sound on, a low, settled drone plays along. Endless Drift saves nothing, so closing the tab is all it takes to stop — no notifications, no prompt to pick up where you left off.
As ambience — a mood for the room
For a gathering, a café, or the living-room TV, put it in full screen and let it run. It works on anything with a browser — tablet or TV alike — with no install and no sign-in.
One thing to remember: when the tab is hidden it stops completely to save power, so keep the window visible when using it as a backdrop. To show the same scenery on several devices, open the same share code on each of them.
Controls at a glance
Move with arrow keys, WASD, or by dragging; open the options with Esc or the top-right button, where full screen and sound live too. A few seconds without input and it returns to auto-drift, and the interface fades away on its own.
The start panel lets you pick a starting place (six zones), the sky (deep night, dawn, dusk), and the speed — or leave everything to Random. Choices are never saved, so every visit starts fresh.
